Xiaomi Max spotted online, without the front MI logo.

New Render.

Last week, an alleged front panel of a Xiaomi Max smartphone was spotted online (See image below), revealing that the company’s may have a rather large sized handset in production. Today a render has appeared online(above), which seems to match up rather closely with the picture that we saw earlier in the week, although there are a few differences.

It likely look extremely similar to the Mi 5 on the whole, it should also introduce a major change. It looks like the Max will ditch the prominent top left Mi logo on its face, either moving the emblem to its rear, or discarding it altogether. This suggests the device name will be Xiaomi Max, not Mi Max or Mi 5 Max.

Previously leaked picture.
It looks very familiar to the traditional Xiaomi look and the very thin bezels present in the render looks very similar to the earlier leaked picture. We can also now see that the volume and power buttons are placed up on the right side of the smartphone. However, while the earlier picture showed off capacitive keys on the front of the handset, this render seems to suggest that the phone will come with a physical home button. Perhaps this will house a fingerprint scanner?

Rumored specifications for the Xiaomi Max point to a large 6.4-inch handset with a QHD resolution display. The phone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and probably 4-6GB of RAM, nothing else is known about the phone at this point.

The Max is rumored for a May release, with a price higher than ¥3,000 (30,000-35,000Rs approx..) but we should probably wait for some official teasers before forming too many opinions.
